Edmond North Sled Team

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Edmond North High School Football Sled Team website. Sled Team is a parent driven support group that provides assistance to our players, coaches, trainers and managers through financial and volunteer support that cannot be provided by the Edmond Public Schools. Sled Team has raised funds to provide practice artificial turf, digital video equipment hardware and software for game film review, a players' lounge as well as meals for away games. In addition to our parent volunteers and members, local businesses in the Edmond community support us as well to help our team be as successful as possible. If you wish to be a part of the Edmond North High School football family, we invite you to join us and participate in what we believe is a fun and exciting way to support our team.

Letter from Junior Class Parent Representative

Below is a short history of previous Sled Team projects. I thought you might like to see how the Sled Team has benefited and continues to benefit your boys.

1. Did you know that the artificial turf north of the field house was paid for and put in by Sled team? (Total of $55,000)
2. Did you know that Sled Team paid $9,000 for video/film equipment upgrades which is now used not only for game film review but to send highlight DVD's to all of the major universities in the country to help garner scholarship opportunities for some of our gifted players? This was an expense that will benefit all the players for years to come.
3. Did you know that Sled team also spent $6,000 for the Husky run-through tunnel as well as putting couches and love seats and a rug in the varsity locker room/players lounge?
4. Did you know that Sled Team pays approximately $1,500 every year to cover our coaches' lodging/meals for coaching clinics?
5. Did you know that Sled Team pays approximately $500 per game for pregame varsity team meals and if they play away games of any considerable distance (Lawton Eisenhower this year for example), we will pay for food and Gatorade/water on their way home which will be around $500?
6. Did you know that Sled Team pays for the football banquet at the end of the season which runs between $9,000 to $10,000 every year?

Just base bare bone expenses (without capital upgrades like the weight room renovation) runs Sled Team around $19,000 every year. If we have 180 freshmen through senior players, dues @ $25/family with 100% participation only generates $4,500/year.

All funds needed by the Sled Team are raised by dues, fundraisers, or donations. We need your help. PLEASE participate in the weight room fundraiser and IF you have not yet become a Sled Team member, PLEASE become a member!!!
